DECD Interest Free Loans for Home Repairs »INTEREST FREE LOANS FOR HOME REPAIRS.    The Town of Preston is applying for a $300,000 State Grant funded by the Department of Economic and Community Development from the State of Connecticut to provide funds for low and moderate income home repairs. The program provides interest free loans to low and moderate income residents to make repairs and improvements to their homes including such activities as replacement of failed septic systems, roof and window replacement, electrical upgrades and remediation of lead hazards. This program is especially helpful to families who would otherwise have difficulty affording needed home repairs. At this time the Town of Preston is establishing a waiting list.
