Posted April 24th, 2008: The Friends of the Preston Public Library are sponsoring a Mother’s Day Books, Bouquets and Bake Sale on Saturday, May 10 from 9 am – 1 pm at the Preston Public Library, Route 2, Preston, CT. Get those last minute gifts for mom at this first annual sale. There will be a huge collection of books, fresh spring plants, and yummy baked goods. In addition, there will be a children’s craft area where youngsters can create their own bird feeder. Book donations can be dropped off at the library on May 8th and 9th at your convenience. Dr. Nicholas Bellantoni, CT State Archaeologist will speak about the findings made at the Norwich Hospital site. The Preston Historical Society is sponsoring Dr. Bellantoni's talk at the Preston Public Library, Route 2, Preston. The talk is scheduled for Tuesday, May 13 at 6:30 pm. A $5 donation is requested. Posted April 13th, 2008:Preston Softball Little League Umpires Requested Games will be on various weeknights at 6pm and Saturday mornings in May through Mid June. Prior umpiring experience is not required Little League Rule Book and umpire equipment will be provided. Little League umpire training session can be scheduled in Preston if requested. Emails of umpire news and training aids are available if requested. Preston umpires may become eligible to umpire Little League All Star Games in Preston and in neighboring towns. Anyone over the age of 15 is welcome. Please help Preston youth softball by volunteering just a few hours per week. The league can pay up to $20 per game If interested or would like additional information, please contact Preston Parks and Recreation or Mike DeVito, 887-8019.

Join Pack 75 - Preston Cub Scouts! Preston is fortunate to have a very active cub scout pack. Cub Scouting consists of boys from Grades 1 through 5. We participate in many fun and educational events throughout the year including our Annual Pinewood Derby, New Years' Eve Bowling Party, Camp out at the Battleship Massachusetts, Camp out at Dodd Stadium, and many other great activities. Our pack is dedicated to encouraging the youth of Preston to be good citizens, good neighbors and good friends.
