Avalonia Land Conservancy will be holding its first “Fall Frolic”on Saturday Oct 3 (rain date, Oct 10) at the Preston Nature Preserve in Preston, CT, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Bring your own picnic to enjoy. 
Avalonia will provide beverages, games for children, music, guided tours, and more. The Fall Frolic is open to the public and to Avalonia members throughout New London county!

Posted May 28th, 2009: Preston Town Picnic and Navy Band Concert - The Preston Historical Society has arranged for the Navy Band to play at Preston Veterans Memorial School from 7 pm - 9pm on Saturday, August 22, 2009. This Band has approximately 35 members. Preceding the concert (3 pm to 6:30 pm) The Friends of the Library are organizing a Town Picnic. Those attending can bring their own picnics or purchase foods from the various Town Civic Groups who will be participating and selling items to help fund raise their groups. There will be organized field games for the children, and the organizing group is looking at the possibility of Classic Cars and a small Farmers Market. Posted May 26th, 2009: IMG_0057 (2) L O S T !! The webmaster has lost his best buddy Clifford. Clifford is a male Maine Coon Cat, who is distinguished in appearance by his having two different color eyes due to a macular issue. He is large(around 20 LB) yellow-orange in color, VERY friendly, and was last seen in the vicinity of his home on Branch Hill Road in Preston just before the Memorial Day holiday on May 22nd, 2009. A reward will be paid for information that leads to Clifford’s recovery and return home. Contact Bob Payette at 860 892.5484 or r.payette@snet.net with any information. Thank you!

Update: He was reported seen on Anna Farm Road West in North Stonington on Thursday May 28th.

 StagePosted July 25th: The Mashantucket Pequo t Tribe has agreed, through the efforts of the First Selectman, Bob Congdon, to make advanced tickets available for the citizens of Preston, Ledyard and North Stonington for entertainment held at Foxwoods. A special block will be available to ensure that local residents from the three communities get good seats. The special block will be on a first-come, first-served basis and will be available for ten days (depending on the terms between Mashantucket and the entertainment headliner).

Please contact the Selectmen’s Office @ 887-5581 (ext.1-Donna) if you are interested in being put on a distribution list for upcoming events.

            Boy_scout Updated June 20th, 2009: Join Pack 75 - Preston Cub Scouts! Preston is fortunate to have a very active cub scout pack. Cub Scouting consists of boys from Grades 1 through 5. We participate in many fun and educational events throughout the year including our Annual Pinewood Derby, New Years' Eve Bowling Party, Camp out at the Battleship Massachusetts, Camp out at Dodd Stadium, and many other great activities. Our pack is dedicated to encouraging the youth of Preston to be good citizens, good neighbors and good friends. Joining night is typically in early September at PVMS, but your child may join at any time throughout the year.
