congdonFrom The Desk of the First Selectman by First Selectman Bob Congdon: (Updated January 25th, 2008) Excerpted from The Preston Pipeline
 Development Status -
The Norwich Hospital Advisory Committee has entered the phase of selecting a developer for the former Norwich Hospital property. Preston is in the fortunate position of having two qualified developers who are both capable of successfully developing the site. The committee well understands the importance of this decision to the Town and to our community and are taking the complexities of this decision very seriously. "No decision" is not an option as this would likely take the course for the future of the property out of Preston's control

.
Final Issue of Pipeline - I'm sad that this is the last issue of the Pipeline as we know it. The Pipeline has been an incredible asset to our residents and businesses and has been instrumental in providing a sense of community in Preston. For the last fifteen years, the paper has been the work of a small group of volunteers to whom the Town owes a huge "thank you" and in particular to Janet Perkins. Janet put her heart and soul and at times, much of her patience, into putting together the monthly issues. It's our hope that another group of volunteers will step forward and fill the gap to provide Preston with a community paper that reports local issues and good things done by our residents, reminds us of our historical past and highlights the activities of our youth. Again, thank you, Pipeline!

Issues and ideas - If you have something you'd like to present to your elected officials, please attend a Selectmen's meeting held on the first and third Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm, contact me at (860) 887-5581, or e-mail me at congdon@preston-ct.org.
