Budget - Both the Board of Education (BOE) and Board of Selectmen (BOS) budgets have been. The Board of Finance (BOF) reduced the (BOE) budget by $340,000 after the BOE budget at the first referendum. The reduced BOE, in all likelihood, will preclude offering universal pre-K next year. Given the Town's sound fiscal, the BOF was able to use $500k from to reduce the amount necessary to be from property taxes to balance the budget.
The outcome for taxpayers is that the relatively flat combined with the use of surplus results in reduction in our mill rate from 23.7 to 23.14 mills.
