What do I do if I have a concern about a potential ethical issue, but am not quite sure if it warrants a complaint?

Fill out Form A, which is a Request for an Advisory Opinion and submit to the Ethics Commission. Each person covered by the code that has a beneficial interest, or any other concern in any matter before the Town, shall disclose that interest orally at the time the possible conflict arises pursuant to Section 1-4E.  Any person covered by the code shall use this form to request an advisory opinion as to whether a possible conflict of interest would exist.

Are Preston Ethics Commission meetings open to the public?

Yes. However as required by the Preston Code of Ethics all Closed Meetings are confidential in order to maintain the confidentiality of the investigation.

When does the Preston Ethics Commissions hold its meetings?

The Ethics Commission holds it regular meetings at 7:00 PM on the second Wednesday of each month. Location and times of all meetings will be published on our Agendas & Minutes page on this website.

Is there a Public Question & Comment portion of an Ethics Commission Meeting?

Yes, but the Ethics Commission Chairman does reserve the right to moderate the number of questions and comments and the time allocated to them.
