Tax Collector's Notice...

The first installment of Real Estate, Personal Property and Motor Vehicle Tax Bills for the 2020-2021 Fiscal Year will be due July 1, 2020.  The Town of Preston is offering a deferment program due to COVID-19.   The deferment program allows taxpayers an extended grace period of 90 days without penalty.  Payments received after the 90 days/October 1, 2020 will be charged interest from July 1, 2020.   

Payments can be made the following ways:

  • Payment methods have not changed.  You have 3 options:
  1. Mail your payment to:  389 Route 2, Preston, CT 06365  Attn: Tax Collector
  2. Online:  www.preston-ct.org    (Fees apply, 2.95% for credit/debit card or $0.95 for electronic checks)
  3. IN PERSON: YES, you can still make payments in person.  When you arrive at Town Hall please ring the doorbell located on the front door.  We will come outside to meet you and return your receipt to you immediately.  If you are uncomfortable meeting us at the front door you can place your payment in the newly installed blue drop box.  If you are trying to avoid contact with others, please remain in your car and call 860-887-5581 Ext. 2 and we will come to you.
