Introduction of Jim Corley As Our New Public Works Manager


I would like to introduce Jim Corley as our new Public Works Manager. He has over 15 years’ experience in municipal Public Works and skilled trades. He joins us from the Town of Simsbury where he had been employed for over 7 years, most recently holding the position of Engineering Inspector for the Simsbury Department of Water Pollution Control. Jim has administered, coordinated, scheduled, inspected, and managed quality control efforts for multiple projects for their Public Works Department including maintenance, construction and repair of Town assets including buildings, roadways, paths and infrastructure. Jim worked his way up through the ranks of the Public Works Department both in the Town of Simsbury and the City of Bristol starting as a laborer and truck driver. Prior to this, he was a Lead Carpenter for Kruse Home Improvement.

Jim is a retired member of the United States Marine Corps Reserve which provided him with strong leadership and communication skills as well as a diverse background in heavy equipment operation and maintenance. He has an Associate Degree in Construction Management and is working on his Business Management and Administration Degree. In addition, he has focused on Engineering Technology and Industrial Engineering in his academic pursuits.

 Outside of work, Jim loves spending time with his wife and two children. He is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys fishing, hiking, camping, skiing. He is also an avid woodworker, and enjoys working in his woodshop.
