About the survey...

The Town of Preston’s Board of Selectmen and Board of Education, in a progressive and innovative initiative, have begun the process of taking a long-view approach to proactively planning for the community’s future.

In doing so, the management firm of Martin & Associates has been retained to work with town officials to facilitate the creation of a strategic plan. A strategic plan is a roadmap that helps a community prioritize its goals and determine the best way to reach them. When completed, the strategic plan will provide clear direction and serve as the guide community leaders follow in decisions pertaining to schools, community services, and economic development.

As part of this effort, an independent survey of all who live and work in Preston was conducted September 17-24, 2023. This survey announcement was made public on the town’s website and Facebook account. The survey brought focus to the wants and needs of the community, its current strengths and weaknesses, and how to prioritize the issues at hand.

The individual survey results remain confidential, but the tabulated data can now be shared with the public.
