About the Plan of Conservation & Development

A Plan of Conservation and Development analyzes a town’s past, present and future development trends.  Based on this information, the town sets a vision and creates short- and long-term goals to meet the vision.  Pursuant to the Connecticut General Statutes (CGS), the Planning and Zoning Commission is responsible for creating and adopting the Plan. The statutes require a Commission to review and update the Plan every ten years.
